International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
Worldwide headquarters extension
Overview
Construction project of a headquarters extension for the IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies) in Geneva.
Main characteristics
This new building is going to be linked with the existing one built in the 90s. It is composed of 2 lower ground levels and 7 overground levels. The underground volumes are essentially allocated to a car park as well as to the technical facilities whereas the overground part is dedicated to offices, meeting rooms, cafeteria and terraces.
Cantilevered volume
The volume from the 1st floor to the 4th floor is totally cantilevered, that is to say suspended without any support on the ground, over a length of 13 metres.
Label P-Eco Minergie
By preserving resources, particularly using recycled concrete, and by minimising the environmental impact, this project is given the P-Eco Minergie label.
