Carouge Bridge
Full refurbishment
Overview
The Carouge Bridge is an ancient work of engineering, built in 1812, which over many years sustained age related damages and which has to undergo a full refurbishment.
History
For dozens of years, our office has followed the deterioration of the bridge and proposed many project alternatives, in close collaboration with the two owners (Ville de Genève et Ville de Carouge), the architect, the heritage associations and the public transport of Geneva.
Works
A solution, which received the approval of all parties involved in this refurbishment be it closely or remotely, was finally agreed and the definitive works began in the autumn of 2016 and completed in the spring of 2017.
